Hi, I’m D’Loraine—a writer, editor and content strategist based in Toronto.
I have 13 years experience in the media and brand marketing worlds and a background in journalism. I’m currently a freelance writer, reporting on all things fashion, beauty and culture, whether it be an investigation into our collective obsession with protein or a deep-dive on why everyone’s wardrobes have taken a turn for the preppy.
My bylines can be found in the Toronto Star, Toronto Life, CBC, The Kit and Refinery29. As a content specialist and copywriter, I’ve worked with brands like Indigo, Pinterest, Girlboss, LPGA, Samsung, L’Oréal and more.
But I don’t just write. Previously, I worked in-house at FASHION Magazine, starting out as an assistant editor in charge of fact-checking to eventually overseeing the production of the title itself.
I also served as the associate editor of content marketing at Indigo Books, where I ensured brand voice was reinforced across all social platforms and utilized my storytelling skills and background in journalism to craft smart, snappy and engaging copy. Additionally, I assisted in developing and executing social media strategies that lead to significant growth in engagement and revenue.
In my downtime, you’ll find me trying to catch up with my yearly reading challenge or writing about all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle in Formula 1 over on my Substack, Race Mode.
